Each order has to define on position level the desired delivery option - as well as other delivery request information.
Generally there exist these delivery option types.
- Postal - requires a shipment address defined at the order
- Pickup - requires a pickup station defined at the order. Each pickup station must have a shipment address defined. Please note that pickup station can be operated by 3rd parties.
- Comail - requires a comail-address (typically a code) defined at the order. Also a predefined static comail gateway postal address has to be defined at the delivery method.
Required information
Postal
Postal shipment is the default in ecommerce. If a delivery option of this type is selected, the ordering party has to provide a shipment address (e.g. in ZUGSEIL Shop)
Pickup
Pickup may happen at self or supplier operated points of service (e.g. pickup station, shops, measuring-in sites, ... )
Once it is clear where and when the goods are available the next issue is to deliver them to the place of demand of the internal or external customer. Generally there are these options:
- IntraOrg pickup - Pickup by customer at intra-organization pickup station
- 3rd party pickup - Pickup by customer at 3rd party pickup station
- Postal delivery - Direct delivery to a postal address
- IntraOrg delivery - Direct delivery to a company mail address - this option is only available for intra-organization demand
It is always the shipping party, who finally decides on the final shipment path matching the requested delivery option.
