Zentralbahn is purchasing from sbb regularly securities, which are special paper rolls which allow the printing of valid tickets for all public transportation in switzerland. zb is ordering these regularly over their ZUGSEIL Shop and want to keep track how many items they have on stock and where they currently are.

There are a couple of paper formats, which are articles in zb which come from a sbb catalog.

Mobile use-cases of Stockkontrolle

These usecases shall be implemented by the MobileItemTracker app. They are used by local staff members with their regular phones (iPhone/Android):

  • A new pack of rolls has arrived. Each is scanned with the MobieItemTracker app and assigned to a local warehouse of railway station (regular point-of-sale)
  • A single roll is handed out to a railways station workplace. The roll to be handed out to the new railways station is scanned with the ItemTracker app and assigned to a workplace of a railways station (regular point-of-sale). If other trackable items are at this station, the system should show these with the date when they were added and allow easy marking as "used up".

Controlling use-cases of Stockkontrolle

This usecase is for controlling of trackable items in the ItemTracker app. They are centrally used by controlling and procurement staff:

  • Track item - the user wants to enter a serial number and find out the entire tracking history of an item (where? when?)
  • See inventory of tracked items - the user wants to select a warehouse or a point-of-sale and wants to see what items are currently there (where? work-area? work-place? local stock there?). For each of the items, the user wants to be able to see directly the item history.
